eFoiling FAQs

  • When the hand controller touches the water or trigger is released, the eFoil automatically shuts off. It is extremely important to wear protective equipment and to practise caution when riding to avoid injury. For more info please check out the safety video.

  • All Lift components are produced with the highest quality, corrosion resistant materials and are triple sealed for moisture protection.

The key tips to keep your eFoil in tip top condition are to:
    1. Always inspect before and after use
    2. Always clean with fresh water and dry following use especially after salt water exposure
    3. Store in a safe/dry place and keep out of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
    4. Lubricate visible connections frequently with the provided ReelX.

  • LondonFoils accept all major credit cards, debit cards and wire transfers.

  • Our recommendation is that eFoil users should be 16 years or older. Individuals with larger stature can ride Lift eFoils however factory recommendations are 45Kg – 113KG. Cruiser boards provide comfortable rides up to 125KG.

Riders with previous experience of snowboarding, skateboarding and foiling tend to progress on the Lift eFoil quickly however for those without experience don’t worry it’s easy to learn! Our system enables riders of all levels to get up flying on the board and have a lot of fun. Check out our First Ride video.

  • Flying over water on an eFoil is a sensational experience, what can I expect?

    • LondonFoils provide a 30 minute on land ‘get to know my eFoil’ session which provides safety information, lying down/hands on the board and controller with a dry demo. Once this is complete, you’re ready for the 60 minute on water experience!

    • Starting from lying down position, getting to grips with the hand controller/trigger finger throttle whilst leaning into your turns progression will then be made onto your knees. The key here is to have your front foot toes curling over the front rubber section of the board, back foot slightly back behind the carry handles ensuring you are leaning forward whilst maintaining stability with both hands either side of the nose of the board.

    • As soon as you feel comfortable on your knees, slowly begin to rise to your feet with weight distributed forward until stability on the water (plaining) is found, remembering at the same time to keep a steady increase in speed with your trigger finger.

    • Find your feet and enjoy the achievement of riding whist practising leaning shoulders and weight into left and right turns.

    • Once confident and balanced you can then attempt to lift by accelerating slowly and shifting your weight back a couple of inches until your front foot is crossing the front of the battery hatch, back foot behind the carry handles or on par, keeping your shoulders back and square. Try then pumping the front foot slightly to bring you down again to get the feel of it up and down.

    • The sensation of flight is truly unique and unlike anything else so try to relax and not tense up, this is normal though.

    • Continuous flying is maintained by keeping your weight on the back foot whilst continuing to maintain a steady speed, the board will start to drop if trigger finger throttle is decreased.

    • Turning whilst in flight is achieved by leaning weight slightly to left and right whilst increasing speed marginally.

    • Letting go of the trigger finger throttle STOPS the board.

    • Part of the experience is falling in, everyone does even the most experienced riders so if you feel you’re losing balance simply jump/push yourself sideways and back, firmly away from the board and foil. Don’t attempt to correct as you want to prevent yourself falling on top of or in front of the board.

  • Keep track of the amount of battery life you have left on the hand controller. Between 20% and 10% remaining the board will automatically throttle back to a lower power setting whilst reducing the speed of the eFoil to get you safely back to shore.
